Using Bitcoin Payment Method - Not Intimidating! 7 Easy Steps
To all our fellow Hippo Customers - we deeply apologize for the issues and inconveniences you have experienced with our Credit Card Processors going down.
To explain, banks do not enjoy working with Kratom companies - in fact they usually refuse. Therefore it is very hard to find a Credit Card Processor that is safe and suitable for our company. We have thought about building our own website plugin, but things like that take time.
We are currently working as hard as we can to find a replacement for PMC and our Off-Site Payment Method. We hope to have something easier for our customers available within a month, and with the release of our new website (Coming late March, early April) it will be an easier user experience all around.
Until then, we would like to help our customers take advantage of using the Bitcoin payment method. Although it seems intimidating, it is a lot easier than some may think. We are here to help walk you through the signup process!

Things you will need to complete this process:
- Driver’s License or State Issued ID
- Debit Card
- Mobile Phone
- Valid Email Address
- Your face, ready for a selfie
Step 1: Get CashApp
CashApp is like Venmo, Zelle, and other Mobile Payment Services.
Through CashApp - you can easily buy and sell Bitcoin.
Important note: Every Bitcoin processor is going to have a hefty verification process. After researching all the carriers, we found CashApp to be the least meticulous. So bare with us!
Download the app on your phone, and follow the instructions provided.
Step 2: Enter Debit Card information
Like every other Mobile Instant Payment service, you cannot use a Credit Card for this one.
Step 3: Set up your CashApp Bitcoin Wallet
Click on the Bitcoin button on the home page
From there, you will see a spot that says “Enable Withdrawals and Deposits”. Click on that, and it will bring you to this screen:
Click ‘Continue’ - and follow all the instructions given.
They will need to verify a few things with you before allowing you to buy and sell Bitcoin. This includes your email address, full name, date of birth, last 4 digits of your social security, and your Driver’s license or ID.
After they prompt you to take a photo of your Driver’s license, they will ask that you take a selfie to verify that your face matches the photo on the ID. Don’t be alarmed!
Last but not least, they will ask a few questions about what your intentions for using Bitcoin are.
After all these steps have been taken - it takes around 30 seconds to be verified!
In the meantime, you can move on to Step 4.
Step 4: Place a Happy Hippo Order
This is the only way you will know exactly how much Bitcoin you need to purchase.

The final step at checkout will display our current Bitcoin address.
Bitcoin addresses can often change so always check for the current address!
Make note of this address or copy it on your phone - you will need to enter this in later
Step 5: Buy the Bitcoin
Open the CashApp again, and click on the Stocks/Investing button on the bottom tab. It looks like this:
From there click on the ‘Bitcoin’ tab on the top right hand corner.
Click the ‘Buy’ button. You will then get the option to purchase set amounts, i.e. $10, $15, $200. Simply click on the 3 dots to enter in a specific amount. Purchase whatever amount your order total was + a few dollars to help with the fluctuation.
Step 6: Send Bitcoin to Happy Hippo
Click on the home tab of CashApp, in the bottom left corner.
Click on the 'Bitcoin' button
From there you should be able to see the amount you just recently purchased. It may differ slightly, because Bitcoin fluctuates so fast. Click ‘Send Bitcoin’
Remember the exact amount we gave you at checkout? Enter in that number, make sure to be careful of how many 0’s there may be after the decimal. We frequently have customers accidentally send $8 rather than $80, for example.
Next, hit the ‘Send’ button. From there, you will need to enter in our Bitcoin Address.
After you enter it - the money will be sent over to us!
Step 7: Contact Hippo Helpers to Expedite the Confirmation Process
Our Hippo Helpers manually have to match incoming transactions with Customers orders - and sometimes this does not get done right away, as they have other things to do throughout the day as well.
If you email in to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with something simple, such as “Hello! My name is ___, my order number is ____, and I just submitted my Bitcoin payment. Please confirm that you received it, thanks!”
You should receive a response within a few minutes if it is during business hours, hopefully making it so your package ships out the same day.
